Sharing Your Car Helps Everyone
Chrysler is one of the oldest and most respected automobile manufacturers on the planet. They have been in business since 1925 and along with General Motors and Ford they are a part of the “Big Three,” i.e., the three biggest North American car makers.
But the global recession was especially hard on the industry, and no car maker was harder hit than Chrysler. The company famously asked the government for funds to help keep it afloat, as the car market continued to decline. Then in the middle of 2009, the company officially filed for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Since that time, Chrysler dealerships all over North America have been closing up shop as sales continue to decline and the company desperately tries to trim the fat. What does this mean for consumers? Well, if you are a fan of Chrysler cars, there has never been a better time to buy. Popular vehicles like the chrysler 4x4 are selling at fire-sale prices. These vehicles have been top sellers for years now, while other Chrysler models have foundered and been discontinued. How successful are they? Well, the company’s famous Cherokee Jeeps sold an incredible 3 million units, and the Jeep Wrangler was not far off. Both vehicles were also judged the 4 x 4 of the decade by popular magazines.
These vehicles have also sold extremely well overseas where they are a popular, fuel-efficient alternative to massive American-made SUVs. It is a shame that Chrysler didn’t produce more of them before they were forced to file for bankruptcy protection and cut production numbers across the board.
